6.2.6 CC400EP Water-Based Epoxy Sealer

6.2.6.3 INSTALLATION DATA
Basic Use
CC400EP is a 2-component, water-based epoxy sealer designed for dustproofing and sealing interior concrete floors subject to pedestrian and some fork lift traffic. The product also has applications as an anti-graffiti shield.
Limitations
  • CC400EP should not be used in place of an elastomeric waterproofing membrane. Waterproofing membranes are designed to bridge small moving cracks.
  • CC400EP must not be permitted to freeze prior to application.
  • Do not place CC400EP when slab temperatures are below 55°F or above 90°F, or when relative humidity is above 75%.
  • Material should be placed within 1 hour after mixing.
6.2.6.4 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Surface Preparations
Surfaces to be coated with CC400EP must be clean, and free of surface contamination, such as dust, dirt and laitance. Surfaces may be damp, but there must be no standing water.

Concrete surfaces may be prepared by high pressure water cleaning, wire brushing, sand or shot blasting, or acid etching. If acid etching is chosen, the surface must be thoroughly rinsed with clear water afterward, to remove all traces of muriatic acid.

Wood surfaces may be prepared by sanding lightly to open the grain.

Where previously applied coatings are present, in many cases they may remain in place if desired. The coatings must be firmly bonded, and a test patch of CC400EP must be applied to determine adhesion. Prior to application of CC400EP, the coating must be wire brushed or scarified, then cleaned.
Mixing
Combine Part A and Part B and mix thoroughly, using a TE-25 and a Hilti mixing paddle.
Application
CC400EP may be rolled, brushed, or sprayed onto surfaces. If rolling, choose a roller with a 3/8" nap for best results.
